Wrekin Housing Trust have selected Phoenix Renewable Technology to install Mitsubishi Ecodan heat pumps as part of their renewable energy trials.

The trial involves fitting the Mitsubishi Ecodan air source heat pump along with a complete new radiator system in 8 bungalows that are not serviced by gas. The project will be part financed through the Low Carbon Building Program Stream 2E and is the first of its kind for Wrekin Housing Trust.

Feed back from tenants is very positive with substantial savings already being reported with a system that is far easier to use than their existing storage heaters. Phoenix specialise in offering renewable energy solutions to social housing providers like Wrekin Housing Trust and have developed a number of partnerships within the social housing sector

Phoenix Renewable Technology has recently worked with Aspire Housing Association to find solutions for there off gas properties. Using a Daikin Altherma air source heat pump combined with a standard radiator system we have found a cost effective alternative to oil boilers that would normally be used by Aspire in these circumstances.

By using the Daikin heat pump we have not only managed to significantly reduce the running cost for Aspires tenant but also helped reduce the environmental impact caused by fitting the new central heating system. This trial system will now be used by Aspire to monitor the effectiveness of air source heat pump systems compared to oil boilers
